IN THE SUMMER TO IRAN?

Home » IN THE SUMMER TO IRAN?

Traveling to Iran during the summer months? That may not be the first period that you think of when planning a trip to this special country. Logical, because in summer it can get very hot in some places. In the summer of 2019, we boarded a plane to the Islamic Republic of Iran. Warm, political tension, fuss with Trump … dangerous to almost everyone I spoke to.

POLITICAL TENSIONS – GO OR NOT?

I have long left the point about political tension. Together with Apochi.com I have traveled throughout Iran, while the Dutch media invariably reports on danger. It is undeniable that there are troubled areas in neighboring countries, but I have always felt safe in Iran.

DURING THE SUMMER MONTHS TO IRAN?

To be honest, if you are not bound by summer it is a better time to travel to Iran in spring or autumn. However, it is also doable during the summer months and there are also some advantages for a trip during this period. Our journey starts this time in Tehran. This city is massive, large and warm. But there are some must-see places to visit here. In the city it is best to move yourself with the metro, which also provides cooling immediately because you are underground.

For Tehran, it is recommended when you travel in the summer to visit the Grand Bazaar and Downtown Tehran early in the morning. This way you have time in the afternoon to go to the Palace of the Shah. This is located on the outskirts of the city and around this is a nice park. Lots of shade, a bit higher and therefore an ideal place to end the day.

When you leave the city of Tehran, it depends on where you go, because Iran is very extensive and it has big differences in climate. In the mountains it is wonderful in summer, many wealthy Iranis have summer houses here to escape the heat of Tehran. For the summer it is recommended to visit the northwestern part of Iran. So you can easily travel around Iran for three weeks for the summer months. The beautiful green Iranian Azerbaijan and Kurdistan can easily be combined with a trip to Tehran and Isfahan. A complete journey where you are not bothered by the heat.

Areas further south can also be visited in the summer, but it gets a lot warmer here. You can think of 40 degrees during the day. It is good to take this into account when traveling in the summer. You can go into the city until 13:00 in the afternoon, but after that, it gets very hot to be really active. Areas that you can better ignore in the summer are the surroundings of Kerman. This is one of the hottest places in the world and absolutely not recommended in summer.
